Welcome to the placeholder website for the soon to be shared APFU|CC Fediverse!
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
― Albert Einstein
“You never change something by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
― R. Buckminster Fuller
My name is Muireann Ní Sídach, Co-Founder and CXO of the currently forming federated union for Maker Co-operatives here in the NorCal Region.
The APFU|CC™ is a Non-Profit FinTech startup designed to be Primarily Self-Supported by its own efforts and the time, talent, and funds of its constituent members. The Federation is being incorporated to serve Worker-Owned, Maker Co-operatives that micro-industrial professionals, or those communities who own that aspiration, by providing Critical Business Intelligence and Infrastructure within a highly integrated, ecological paradigm.
This proposed vision of Federated Unionism is grounded in a co-operative capitalist economic model prioritizing “
It’s intended organizational structure, a variant of sociocracy is more directly grounded in current social psychology rather than popular business or political ideology, the multidisciplinary science of Environmental Psychology to be specific, with Technocratic Sociocracy our current term of art.
Adapting to prevailing social, economic, and technological changes has demanded a change in tactical exercise though not strategic aims of the APFU|CC™.
Leading the target has meant moving on to the next social and technical stage in the ongoing progress of the fourth industrial revolution. That of cooperatively owned and operated electric transportation fleets within an overarching concept of high-speed, highly personalized mass transportation.
In order of necessity, the priority of need for safety, water, food, shelter are irreducible, immediate concerns of personal and familial survival. It is when turning our attention to the integrity and survival of any larger community that the organizational means of mobility and corresponding decision-making, logistics, disposition of critical resources takes precedence.
Evidence suggests extended families transitioned approximately 8 millennia ago from living a semi-nomadic hunter-gatherer life with semi-agrarian farming that provided only basic subsistence quantities of food to sedentary formal agriculture providing an excess of food and located around urban centers for practical reasons of organized mutual aid and exchange.
These first real cities coevolved and were enabled by rapid development and widespread adoption of two principle technologies.
Discovering a new application for the ubiquitous pottery wheel resulted in wheel enabled plows that did more work and carts better able to move the now larger harvests to market.
Cuneiform, the first known widely used form of indelible writing of each owner or producer’s name and related accounting information made necessary by the new complexities urban living. Larger farms and greater numbers of them generated a surplus of grain and produce thus necessitating the aforementioned identification and accounting.
Humankind has improved and expanded upon these tools of survival, what we now call “Critical Infrastructure”, but not much fundamentally changed over the last 4 of 8 millennia of experimentation, invention, and refinement until the advent of this fourth industrial revolution.
The nomenclature Fourth Industrial Revolution is somewhat misleading as a common use description, chiefly because the term invokes that mental picture of a machine doing something as in the previous three industrial eras of major change.
The times we now face are frankly more a subtle yet powerful “Cultural Evolution” more than the straight-forward “Mechanized Revolutions” of our past. The level of integration allowed by current technology results in a virtual infinitude of adaptive tools suited to the needs of every individual, thus enabling a profound cultural technology, as billions of people learning to express a startlingly diverse spectrum of worldviews having from a historical perspective suddenly become “Network-Aware”.
Application-aware networking is the capacity of an intelligent network to maintain current information about applications that connect to it and, optimize their functioning and as a result enhance the capacity for the users of these applications to enjoy a richer, more fecund creative and productive dynamic within our psychosocial ecology.
We commonly describe devices like computers, printer, scanners, televisions, cell phones “Network-Aware”, but in reality, they only serve a more powerful and far-reaching power of making intimate human connection and interaction possible, on a scale without precedent. Unfortunately, the first tools for managing network awareness have been created to primarily serve and enrich the few, while convincing people they had greater control and security than had actually been the case.
This transition to network-awareness has insinuated its way down to the barest necessities of life with unpleasant consequences prompting many to disconnect. Withdrawal from and even organized resistance to major changes of this kind is as old as recorded history.
There are no examples of such attempt managing to bar innovation though consequences of these attempts have been devastating for many with the well-known example of Anti-Vaccination campaigns which have come and gone multiple times and leaving senseless death and suffering in their wake.
Life is for learning and those organisms which fail to adapt fail to prosper and may fail to survive. Learning about and developing and new skill can be interesting, but more often than not, it is nearly always an uncomfortable experience. The federation is intended to serve as a responsible aid in achieving and maintaining fitness and where necessity demands, accommodate human shortcomings.
First, our information and communication and now our transportation and logistical planning of our vehicles use. This is a confluence of not simply electrically powered, but Network-Aware ‘Electronic’ Vehicles combined with highly personalized online services, making possible with near surgical precision the most effective use of assets, the most efficient, consumption of resources, and the often overlooked but vital element of accountability between provider to the patron.
At the scale of this application, this kind of accountability has the potential to radically reduce systemic loss while providing unprecedented levels of personal accommodation, in this case highly personalized mass transportation and logistics.
The goal is to optimize your fitness, enable and enhance your capabilities, give you greater personal control in collaborating with family, friends, private and professional community to get what you need doing with high confidence and a minimum cost.
The one requirement is your willing consent to deliberately change your perspective and habits, that you learn to adapt to change in order to bring about beneficial change for you, your family, and your community. As the deliverer of a multi-level service level agreement, we would be addressing communal, familial, individual needs via integrated behavioral, software and hardware solutions that aid people in accomplishing better-informed decision-making and planning of their mobility needs.
With accommodations spanning a number of personal transportation options as well as light to medium cargo, these community-owned and operated aggregate fleets will combine access to both their own and when unavoidable external commercial assets.
The Fleet Réalta and it’s C|L|C mission are a furtherance of the APFU|CC™ agenda, promotion of economic democracy for social democracy, and so ensure equal justice, equal opportunity, community, and personal prosperity.
All APFU|CC™ Constituent Co-operatives, their missions, services, products are born of an adaptation of Participatory Action Research and Design Thinking, a form of community-centric engagement and accountability that is integral to the science of our tradition to optimize human strengths and accommodate human limitations.
